Athletes respond on Twitter to Kaepernick’s protest

By Charles Curtis, FTW

Athletes everywhere are weighing in on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand for the national anthem during the preseason, along with his reasoning that he won't "stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color."

There were a divided set of opinions -- some defended his right to free speech, while others completely disagreed. Here's a look at the reaction from fellow NFL players - both current and retired -- and athletes elsewhere:

Commentary from Lynn J. Cheramie III, Founder, FFOA News Network and NOFAR

This has nothing to do with racism but everything to do with #kaepernicksucks being butt hurt for being beat out as QB by a guy who happens to be White! #kaepernicksucks career is over! I wouldn't want him representing my team and it's not because he's Black, it's because he's stupid and just happens to be Black! There is a big difference people and racism will never change unless we all see the difference not the color of one's skin!

White Lives Matter group protests outside NAACP in Houston's Third Ward

By Jessica Hamilton, The Houston Chronicle

The Confederate flag waved in front of the NAACP office Sunday. The red flag with its blue X holding white stars hung over the shoulder of a White Lives Matter member who was joined by others in his group in a protest against the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

"We came out here to protest against the NAACP and their failure in speaking out against the atrocities that organizations like Black Lives Matter and other pro-black organizations have caused the attack and killing of white police officers, the burning down of cities and things of that nature," White Lives Matter member Ken Reed said. "If they're going to be a civil rights organization and defend their people, they also need to hold their people accountable."

#whitelivesdomatter but the Rebel Flag has no place in this issue. The #rebelflag as we like to call it, not the #confederateflag is a symbol of pride and not a symbol of racism for most of us who identify as Southerners.

#blacklivesmatter got the ball rolling on this issue of #alllivesmatter and it will not stop until they are denounced by a President who just called for Louisiana not to discriminate in it's flood recovery efforts. That means he's more in tuned with #blacklivesmatter than anyone realized and called the entire State of Louisiana racist just by making his stupid request.

The government is one when we as a people are divided. They're perpetuating racism at every turn. They want us fighting each other so we don't watch them! Every American regardless of color needs to stand together and again become the force that shaped our Great Nation. We must protect OUR COUNTRY from the evil inside our own walls, OUR GOVERNMENT!

The Problems I Have With The Black Lives Matter Movement

By Rocco Papa, The Huffington Post

Race riots erupted in the streets of Milwaukee, Wisconsin this weekend. 23-year-old Sylville Smith was shot and killed by a police officer. Smith had an illegally obtained pistol in his possession and refused to put it down when the officer ordered him to. Smith had a history of past arrests, according to Milwaukee Police Capt. Mark Stanmeyer.

Several people responded by rioting in the streets. A lot of destruction took place and several businesses were burned down. Some of the rioters were part of the Black Lives Matter movement, as evident by photographs of rioters wearing their shirts. The rioters were also chanting “black power” and beating up any white person in sight.

Someone at Huffington finally pulled their head out of their ass! #blacklivesmatter is another racially divisive organization who preys on the very people it purports to help!

Violence erupts after police shooting in Milwaukee

By Aaron Mak and Jacob Carpenter, USA Today

MILWAUKEE — A standoff between police and an angry crowd turned violent Saturday night in the hours after a Milwaukee police officer shot and killed an armed suspect during a foot chase.

After an hours-long confrontation with officers, police reported at 10:15 p.m. CT that a gas station was set on fire. Police said firefighters could not get close to the blaze because of gunshots.

Commentary by: Lynn Cheramie, Founder, National Organization For All Races

I still don't understand how people get mad at a Police Officer for shooting an armed suspect no matter what color he is and a damn taser won't work against someone with a gun.

Blacks are destroying themselves by allowing Black on Black Crime, Protest Burning their own Communities, 80% of all Abortion Clinics and Drugs while blaming while blaming it on others.

Wake up and see the bed that our own government has made for you! You have to know the way things are going in minority communities will never get better without change from within. It has nothing to do with outside forces!

We white people must own our role in racial injustice

By Chris McLeod, The Charlotte Observer

This time it will be different.

In the 1960s civil rights movement, Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., a handful of African American lawyers and community leaders mobilized tens of thousands to march to end racial segregation and discrimination. They struggled for funding and received little media attention until reports of racial violence in the South got the nation’s attention.

Sounds like the writer has some serious mental issues! The White people alive today had nothing to do with circumstances 100 even 75 years ago. So tell me again why we should take responsibility for something just because of the color of our skin? That's racist!

Marco Rubio Warns Christian Conservatives of the Costs of Gay Intolerance

By Jeremy W. Peters, The New York Times

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who has faced widespread condemnation for agreeing to speak at a conference alongside Christian conservatives who have denounced homosexuality and gay rights, used his speech to the group on Friday to warn of the costs of intolerance.

His remarks in Orlando, Fla., not far from the site of the massacre at a gay nightclub in June, were his most extensive yet in public on the subject of prejudice against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. And he struck a notably softer tone than during his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, during which he repeatedly reaffirmed his opposition to same-sex marriage.

Commentary by: Lynn Cheramie, Founder, National Organization For All Races

Why is believing you can be Gay OK and not believing it's intolerant? Not so long ago it wasn't OK to be Gay. It seems the same intolerance placed on Gay's is now being placed on Christians by the Gay's, just like racism. It seems that Whites were intolerant of Blacks and now Blacks are heeping it on against Whites and it's OK? How about this, NO ONE IS RIGHT OR WRONG. It's what you choose to believe and that's your opinion. Everyone is entitled to have one without being labeled intolerant, racist or a bigot! Being labeled for not believing in anything IS WRONG and we all know it but our tongues are being held by political correctness. Being politically correct is a polite way of saying I'm intolerant, racist or a bigot and getting away with it!

Wake up people before we get to the point of no return!

Debate flares after black college students seek a non-white roommate

By Nick Anderson and Susan Svrluga, The Washington Post

In most respects, the roommate-wanted notice seemed routine. Three students at the Claremont colleges in Southern California were looking for a fourth this summer to join them in an off-campus house. They added a caveat in parentheses: “POC only,” they said, using a common abbreviation for people of color.

When a classmate challenged that condition, the Pitzer College student who posted the notice on Facebook pushed back. “It’s exclusive [because] I don’t want to live with any white folks,” wrote Karé Ureña, who is black.

Commentary by: Lynn Cheramie, Founder, National Organization For All Races

The only people that are racist are the ones who yell it the loudest! The request is racist and the NAACP and other clubs like Black Lives Matter should denounce this immediately but they won't because this is their objective, to have equality for all minorities until it doesn't suit them!

The student accomplished her objective of getting her ugly butt face on the internet with that 15 minutes of fame!

Benjamin Watson: Planned Parenthood founded to 'exterminate blacks'

By Arthur Weinstein, The Sporting News

Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson has not hesitated to speak out on the state of race relations in the United States, but he's drawing both criticism and praise for claiming that Planned Parenthood was created to "exterminate blacks" and that "it's working."

Commentary by: Lynn Cheramie, Founder, Freedom Fighters of America

He's right! Is there any other reason why 80% of all abortion clinics are in minority communities?

SFPD union’s dog photo called insult to Black Lives Matter cause

By Vivian Ho, SFGate

The union representing San Francisco police officers published a photograph of two dogs in its monthly newspaper that critics say belittles the Black Lives Matter movement and raises questions about the police force’s commitment to repairing its relationship with communities of color.

The picture, which appeared on the back page of the August issue of the San Francisco Police Officers Association Journal, shows a pair of Labrador retrievers, one black and one white. The black dog has a sign around its neck reading, “Black Labs Matter,” while the white dog sports a sign reading, “All Labs Matter.”

Commentary by: Lynn Cheramie, Founder, National Organization For All Races

Now Blacks want to say it's about the color of ones skin except when it pertains to someone else other than Blacks saying it!

This is the racism that has been perpetuated in America for the last fifty years by our own government and made even worse by Obama. This will end with everyone becoming more racist than ever before if we don't stop it now! #blacklivesmatter is a Black Organization correct?

#alllivesmatter PERIOD!
