LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Confederate monument will be removed from a spot near the University of Louisville campus where it has stood since 1895.
The stone monument honoring Kentuckians who died for the Confederacy in the Civil War will be moved to another location, University President James Ramsey and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said during a surprise announcement Friday. The monument is capped with a statue of a Confederate soldier.
"It's time for us to move this monument to a more appropriate place," Ramsey said while standing in front of the stone memorial, which sits next to the university's gleaming Speed Art museum that just completed a $60 million renovation.

The Hero of today can always become the villain of the past. It's amazing how Blacks support Barack Obama to the end just because he's Black but take issue with a statue that frankly a majority of the people would want to stay and Barack Obama has done nothing but divide and destroy our country. Majority rule was killed by political correctness and this will be our downfall unless we stop it today!
It's absolutely mind blowing how Black people hate to be called the "N" word by Whites and yet it seems to be a term of endearment whenever a Black calls another Black the "N" word. It's absolutely mind blowing how one White Police Officer can shoot a Black person with justification and it's the only issue on the news for months but when many Blacks are killed everyday by many Blacks it never gets any mention and that includes acknowledgement from the Black community.
Blacks seem to think that any confederate statue or symbol is a role model for Whites and it isn't. It is also said that there aren't enough Black role models. Well here's some stats for you:
"This is not just an opinion. According to
Children-our investment.org, homes without fathers ultimately affect children in numerous tragic ways:
* 63 percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes
* 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
* 85 percent of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes
* 80 percent of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes
* 71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes
* 75 percent of all adolescent patients in chemical-abuse centers come from fatherless homes
* 85 percent of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes
These statistics apply to African-American homes in disproportionate numbers. Compared with the 72 percent in our communities, 17 percent of Asians, 29 percent of whites, 53 percent of Hispanics and 66 percent of Native Americans were born to unwed mothers in 2008, the most recent year for which government figures are available. The rate for the overall U.S. population was 41 percent."
It would seem to me that someone needs to stop giving lip service to the fact that they're offended by White History, which in fact is American History and get to work becoming role models themselves and not expecting the label to be handed to them just because their Black.
You may call me a racist and it doesn't bother me because I know I'm not. I will speak the truth without regret or apology. It's time that the Black community invested in itself instead of making excuses for what they aren't because of the past. You're just ruining your future.
